Employers have an ardent responsibility to provide a safe and healthy workplace free of safety and health maladies. Some strategies to use to promote a safe and healthy workplace include:

Provide a workplace free from recognized hazardsProvide and use means to make your workplace safeProhibit employees from entering, or being in, any workplace that is not safeConstruct your workplace so it is safeProhibit alcohol and narcotics from your workplaceProhibit employees from using tools and equipment that are not safeEstablish, supervise, and enforce rules that lead to a safe and healthy work environment that are effective in practice Control chemical agents

Protect employees from biological agents.

Note that employees, by law, can and should refuse to work in an unsafe and unhealthy workplace. They may discuss and participate in any OSHA safety and health related practice and may refuse to perform dangerous tasks without fear of discrimination. Discrimination includes: dismissal, demotion, loss of seniority, denial of a promotion, harassment, etc. This blog is designed to provide both employers and employees the information to uphold and promote a healthy and safe work place.
